As a new student to oiling, I found this book to the perfect accompaniment to my new interest. I love how the book focuses on 25 essential oils and does a very detailed overview of each one. The different recipes, various uses, cautionary recommendations, and resources are so valuable to anyone “getting into” essential oils. The author’s knowledge and experience is expressed throughout this book. I cannot wait to try some of the recipes! Thanks to the publisher for an advanced copy.

Favorite Read This Year So Far: Beasts of Extraordinary Circumstance

Beasts of Extraordinary CircumstanceBeasts of Extraordinary Circumstance by Ruth Emmie Lang
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely loved EVERYTHING in this book! What a story! A story of family, love, adventure and magic woven in and out of a timeline. Definitely a favorite of mine for years to come. I savored the last quarter of the book because I simply didn’t want it to end. I secretly hope it gets optioned for a movie. Bravo Ruth Emmie Lang. I am a fan!

Shhhhhh. I secretly love and hate politics. If you follow politics and know the current players then this book will absolutely fly by!!!! Poorly edited (typos, sentence structure, etc.) but created from interviews with aides and staffers within 45’s inner circles and beyond. An interesting (yet extremely frightening) look into what has transpired within the last 365 days.

This is a fantastic way to start 2018! I’m a huge fan of Gretchin Rubin and her Happier podcast. Her latest book is a road map for understanding ourselves and other’s (husband, wife, coworkers, friends, family, etc.) personality types. I’m an Obliger. A quick and fun read if you love learning, discovering, and recognizing common personality traits. Highly recommended!

Hello 2018!!!

Happy New Year! It’s my favorite time of year – cold, snowy, and getting cozy with books! Today is January 8, 2018 – Happy Birthday David Bowie! He would have been 71 today.

I’m knee deep in Fire and Fury and waiting for the my UK copy of Hawksmoore to arrive for the #BowieBookClub group read (due 2/2/18).

Coming soon, a few posts of my favorites from the past year.

Now, let’s get reading!

The Moth Turns 20!

This is a carefully and amazingly curated collection of short stories that gives you ALL the thoughts and feels! A fantastic choice for an evening nightcap before bedtime. Some stories will help you fall asleep, yet others will provoke thoughts. The Moth does deliver and if you have seen or heard The Moth (either in podcast form or in real life) then you know the energy and vibe. I hope there are more collections of stories to follow.  Well done!
